The Gers are back in action later on this week as another big game in the Europa League begins to loom large on the horizon.
With three games to go in the group stage we have our destiny in our own hands in terms of making the knockout stages and if you offered us that at the start of the campaign we’d have taken that.
It’s tight in the group, though, and so any slip-up will likely be punished which is why this game v Spartak is set to be so important.
With that in mind, then, it’s going to be interesting to see who Steven Gerrard looks to field tomorrow in the Russian capital in order to get a result.
