Mohsni – Referee Got It Wrong

Defender Bilel Mohsni has said the referee was wrong to not let his goal stand in the game against Arbroath.

Rangers had to come from behind twice to take a three two victory on the day, but Mohsni converted his chance shortly after our second equaliser but the referee took the advice of the linesman, but subsequent TV replays have shown the goal was more than good.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Mohsni explained.

‘I know Temps was going to shoot so I had a look to see where my player was and got away from the centre back. When the shot came off the post I was in the right position to score but the goal was disallowed. It’s a shame that happened because I was onside.’

Mohsni didn’t make too much of an issue of it, because thankfully we won anyway, but I can imagine him being a bit more forthright had that disallowed goal played a bigger part in the result.

He also talked about his disappointment at the goals we conceded on the day, because we were sloppy again and should’ve been a lot better and defensively we starting to create our own headlines in recent games and it is becoming a worry.

Finishing off his interview he went on to credit the performance of David Templeton who is certainly proving his attacking worth in games recently.
