Rangers have tonight announced the signing of 34 year old Kenny Miller on a one year deal.

The player will return for his third spell at Ibrox, and along with the one year deal there is an option to extend it for a second year.

Having joined us from Hibs for the 2000-01 season, he then came back for a second time between 2008 and 2011 in a successful period for us.

He now comes back for a third time hoping to build on the 67 goals in 147 appearances he has made in our shirt so far.

Speaking to the Official Site upon his return, he said.

‘I am thrilled to return to Rangers for a third time. I have enjoyed so much success at this great football club and I am determined to repeat it again next season and beyond. We are on the rise again and I want to play my part as we look to get back to the top of Scottish football.’

Miller says that having left Vancouver Whitecaps, he had a number of offers on the table but he had set his heart on a return to us, so he’s delighted to have seen that happen.

Manager Ally McCoist said of the capture.

‘We are delighted to welcome Kenny back. He was a terrific player for us in the past, especially his second spell, and we have won many trophies together. Kenny brings experience and pace to our forward line and will be a great influence on our younger players.’
