Rangers have this evening confirmed that Niko Kranjcar has left the club after a mutual termination was agreed.

The former Croatia, Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth midfielder joined the club back in the summer of 2016 coming in from New York Cosmos and in total he made 26 appearances, scoring three goals.

He last appeared for us back at the end of January.

Speaking to the Official Site to confirm the news, Kranjcar explained.

‘Myself and Rangers Football Club have come to a mutual agreement to terminate our common contract. It’s been an honour to have been part of such a big club and to have played for such great fans, it will always remain an honour for me. I wish the club success in its future while I now consider the options I have on the table.’

Not a major surprise to see this mutual agreement, he has had a constant struggle with injuries since being at the Ibrox.  At least he is leaving on good terms and has talked with nothing but respect about Rangers.
