Ally McCoist has confirmed that Barrie McKay’s foot surgery went perfectly and he should be back and raring to go next season.

Speaking to the Official Site the manager explained.

‘He had an operation on his foot last night which has gone well. We are satisfied that he can now have a good break and be ready for the start of next season.’

McCoist also added that Lewis Macleod is on the mend from his knee injury and it’s expected that he will return to training next week. He’s a fair way off actually playing still, but it’ll be encouraging to see him back on the training pitch. And for confidence purposes he’d quite like to get him some game time if it’s possible before the season ends.

McCoist also said he would be willing to let Lewis travel with Scottish U19s for their Elite State involvement in the European Championships next month as long as the injury is fine and his fitness is appropriate.
