Allan McGregor has admitted to the emotions of the team’s Ibrox entrance earlier today, ahead of the last game of the season against Aberdeen.

Fans had gathered on Edmiston Drive to give their heroes a rapturous reception – a salute to the Champions.

The day is finally here.

Today, Rangers get their hands back on the Premiership trophy, decked out in the red, white and blue ribbons.

McGregor will be hoping to finish this campaign with another clean sheet but the main event today is what follows the action on the pitch, the long awaited trophy presentation.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the game, the veteran keeper stated:

“It’s been a long time coming and it will be a really special day for the boys”

“There were a few fans kicking about when we came in and it got a bit emotional.”

“Today it will definitely kick in”

On the targets still being chased – the unbeaten record, clean sheet record, points total, McGregor stated,

“Playing at Rangers you don’t need any more motivation.”

“It’s another game, it’s another game we want to win, regardless if it’s the last game of the season or not”

A special season for McGregor, individually and collectively, culminates today.

A winner once again – 39 and still going strong.
