Manager Ally McCoist has said that Rangers saved their ‘best for last’ given our performance against Ottawa Fury and he really believes that fans can now see the team starting to get back to its best and starting slowly to find their form and consistency.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, McCoist knows the victory should’ve been far larger, but his greatest delight was in the manner of our play and how we were moving the ball around and he knows it was our best showing of pre season yet.

‘I don’t think there’s any doubt it’s our best performance here. We were miles better than we have been in the previous games. I thought we were good value for our one nil victory. We could and probably should have scored more.’

The gaffer goes on to say that he doesn’t know what Kenny Miller’s goal was disallowed for in the second period, but he also believes the striker should have netted in the first period as well.

‘We had chances at set plays and we looked a lot more solid defensively so we’re very pleased with the performance.’

With McCoist again making changes, and only Ian Black, Calum Gallagher and Darren McGregory remaining from the side that faced Victoria Highlanders the gaffer will also have been happy with the number of minutes he’s got into players – irrespective of the performances and results so far – as obviously his focus on pre season in mainly fitness.
