Manager Ally McCoist has said that he believes Kenny Miller will have a massive impact both on and off the pitch during his third spell with the club.
Having rejoined us again, McCoist spoke to the Official Site and explained what he believes Miller would bring to us.
‘We are delighted to get Kenny. He has a great history with the club and has been a proven goalscorer here before, he’s a player we have always admired. We are thrilled to have him back. We certainly see Kenny as being one of the major players in hopefully our return to the top flight in what will be a very difficult season for us next year.’
McCoist goes on to say that he’s more than confident he still has plenty of goals in him and of course he carries great experience which will be an asset to the younger players we have at the club, so he’ll certainly have a senior role to play off the pitch, in training and helping to bring on players like Lewis Macleod, Fraser Aird, Calum Gallagher, Nicky Clark and others who will be hoping to step up and become fringe players at least next season.
One of the biggest parts of that is that he knows how to handle the pressure of being a winner, and that composure should really help reinvigorate the dressing room given he has his own standards and demands, so it should lift everyone.
