Gary McAllister spoke to Rangers TV today relecting back on the draw in Brondby as well as looking forward to Sunday’s clash against Ross County at Ibrox.

In Denmark, it was very much a case of good and bad – yet more mixed fortunes for the squad but the next Premiership game is one that the champions will be expected to win comfortably.

That will only be done with the right approach and application, something that the assistant manager is aware of. It was apparent in his words that they (coaching staff) want the team to kick-on and to show their mettle, just like the quality that was on display last Sunday at Fir Park.

Yes, County will come to Ibrox with a plan, to limit Steven Gerrard’s team and put their own mark on the game but if Rangers start well, the opposition can be dominated.

McAllister was clear in that a strong, aggressive performance is required but with that, they cannot once again give up the first goal:

“They (County) will come to Ibrox to try and frustrate, they’ll be organised but we have got to go out all guns blazing and what we have to guard against, is losing this first goal which seems to be a bit of a habit at the moment.”

“We can get our noses in front early then we have to try and score some more goals.”

In order to push on for silverwae this season, the Rangers players simply have to find a level of consistency and maintain it through a winning run.

The ability and quality is there for all to see but for one reason or another, there is a real struggle to demonstrate it on a continuous basis. On Sunday, against bottom of the table Ross County, there is an excellent chance to go ito the international break on a relative high and to do put a dent in the goal difference column as well.

The three points is imperative, but with it must come a statement performance, as alluded to above by McAllister.
