Match Stats: Gerrard Remains Unbeaten Following Six Goal Thriller

|

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side took to the pitch once more earlier this afternoon as we faced Motherwell at Fir Park.

The hosts started brightly with the opening goal coming in the third minute of the game, but Rangers went on to fight back on two occasions in the first half with new signing Kyle Lafferty helping himself to a brace on the day.

We seized advantage ahead of the halftime break as Ovi Ejaria scored a third, but although our unbeaten run continues, there was disappointment in the game as we dropped two points as they scored in stoppage time at the end of the match to tie things up.

Paul Hartley was typically their hero following his Fabio Cardoso comments and apology, but we were uncharacteristically poor defensively but having trailed twice for the first time under Gerrard, he will take heart in seeing our resilience come through so that is some small positive – the other of course was Lafferty’s second full debut and showing as he settles back in to life at the club.

Take the positives and improve on the negatives and remember despite our start to the 2018/19 campaign it is still early doors for Gerrard, we’re far from the finished product and the gaffer is still learning so the positives continue to give hope for a better future.
