Rangers fans do not want to sell captain James Tavernier this January, after rumours he could soon be the subject of a £7m bid from England.
RockSport journalist Bill Young sparked speculation on Twitter earlier today when he suggested that the right-back could soon be for the off in a big money move.
Just been told to expect a bid for Tavernier from down south of around £7mil. I hadn't heard anything on that front but source is good.

While not exactly confirmed news, Young has been right about certain Rangers stories in the past so it can’t be a rumour that is wholly dismissed.
Tavernier has received criticism from some fans this season for perceived underwhelming performances, but won everyone around just before the winter break with a wonderful display against Celtic.
I have to be honest, £7m seems like a tempting offer to me. If we are to ever sell him I’m not sure we’d ever get much more.
However, now is not the time to sell. Mid-season we need to keep all our top players regardless of interest. The time to sell and rebuild is in the summer, not January.
Even if the fund were reinvested in the team, letting Tavernier’s dressing room influence disappear in the middle of a title race could be a critical mistake.
Plenty of supporters are hoping the club don’t bite on any offers before the end of the month, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
People need to stop under valuing our players he’s worth more to us than 7 mil

Wouldn’t give them his left foot for 7 mil

I’m a big fan of Tav and this is massively undervalued. We can’t stop bids coming in and it’s a measure of the performance. Hope he stays if this is indeed correct.

7mil get a grip, 10 atleast

I doubt SG will want to part with Tavernier and I strongly suspect the player won’t want to move given where the mood music is following the last win of 2018. If Tavernier goes, surely it will be in the summer and for potentially more than 7M.

Tav is one of our top two assets, we cannot let him go for less than £10m. In the summer.

I’d wait for over ten for our captain ! not at this stage of the season. Its a no from me.

If the board are as serious about winning title as the fans and Stevie G no bids for any first team will be accepted because it’s our best chance in years for 55 and talk of captain and Morelos going. All I can say is rumours are a credit to there performances. End of.
