“Massively underrated”, “World Class” – Rangers fans compare Ferguson family midfielders as Lewis is linked with move

|

Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson has been linked with a move to Rangers should they decide to cash in on their own in-demand midfielder, Glen Kamara.

Ferguson is, of course, the son of Derek Ferguson and nephew of Barry Ferguson, his dad was always a case of “what might’ve been” whereas his uncle is a bona fide Rangers legend, and the brothers have both had their say on the speculation in recent days.

The rumours linking Lewis, scorer of the winning goal in the league cup semi-final against the Gers last season, quickly deviated into a debate about where he fits (in terms of quality) between the three midfielders.

Those of a certain age will remember Derek in his pomp in the Rangers engine room alongside the irrepressible Graeme Souness and an, equally as young, Ian Durrant.

Barry and Derek have both fallen foul of Rangers fans in recent years with some of their comments about the club in their roles as pundits for various media outlets but one thing these fans can agree on is that Lewis isn’t as good, Derek wasted his talent and Barry was the pick of the bunch.
