Steven Gerrard is eager to sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos up to a new contract at Ibrox and fans are excited by the prospect of it happening.
It was reported on Wednesday that the club had rejected a bid for the player from French side Bordeaux, triggering fresh anxiety with fans that the Colombian striker could be set for an exit.
However, Steven Gerrard clearly sees him as a big part of his plans for the season ahead, stating his desire to sign the player up to a new, improved deal as soon as possible.
The 22-year-old only signed his latest contract in March, but given that hasn’t put off prospective buyers, tying him down to a new long-term contract could be a massive bit of business this summer.
