Earlier today it was being reported that Rangers’ winger Ryan Kent had not travelled with the first team group out to Austria ahead of Thursday’s Europa League tie against Rapid Vienna.
The on-loan Liverpool youngster picked up a knock in the 1-1 draw last weekend with Dundee and he failed to reappear after the halftime break, with Glenn Middleton taking his place on the pitch for the final 45.
The Daily Record reported earlier today that with manager Steven Gerrard already admitting he was a doubt for the game, the 22-year-old has now not recovered in time.
Reacting to the news on social media, fans were obviously less than impressed given Kent’s recent performances for us in the wide areas and the injury will be a blow to our plans for this game.
That’s a major miss shouldn’t have been risked at the weekend. We move on

The likelihood is Middleton will take the starting spot in his place, but we’ll have to see if the injury keeps him out for longer than just this one. Given the time he’s already spent out injured, this is another blow for the lad.
