Rangers fans have voted, by a massive majority, to drop defender Joe Worrall for upcoming matches so Croatian prospect Nikola Katic can take his place.

Worrall has come in for serious criticism over the past couple of months for perceived poor performances, with comments he made about the chances of signing permanently for the club hardly going down well either.

The 21-year-old signed from Nottingham Forest on loan in the summer transfer window, after Katic had already won over many fans with a number of stellar performances alongside Connor Goldson.

Katic didn’t really put a foot wrong and was a key part of the defensive performances that helped us reach the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.

It’s now time to bring him back into the team and let him build his confidence again, which looked like it had taken a blow in his most recent appearance against Hamilton.

He may not have huge experience, but he was learning well alongside Goldson before being unceremoniously dropped and as a permanent signing should be seen as having more of a future at the club.

Fans definitely want to see him in action, with 98% of respondents to a poll we published at the weekend believing he should brought back into the side at Worrall’s expense.

Will Steven Gerrard agree when the team travel to Moscow this week?
