It is no surprise, but the usual suspects in terms of Celtic blog and news sites, have been foaming at the mouth over David Martindale’s respect for Michael Beale.

Almost as if it’s not allowed for the Livi boss to be courteous and generous toward another manager or team, just like he was a couple of weeks ago when his team got battered at Parkhead.

On that occasion after Celtic’s 3-0 win over the West Lothian side on 1st February, Martindale joked about trying to find an Uber such was the home team’s dominance in that game.

He stated of the difficulty and strength of Postecoglou’s team:

“Celtic were worthy winners, to be honest. I thought they played some nice football at times. It was a really difficult game for us to lay a glove on them. But I did think we gifted them two goals.”

“They’ve got international players. I’ve seen them do that to Real Madrid – they were probably the better team in that game for 60 minutes. You’ve got to take your hat off to Ange.”

“What he’s done at Celtic, he’s done it incredibly well. It’s all right having money. It’s how you spend it and then it’s how you coach the players you bring in.”

Surely that is fair enough. Next, ahead of the visit of Rangers, Martindale pointed out how Beale has come in to steady the ship at Ibrox and has matched Celtic in terms of points.

Seemingly that isn’t allowed and you don’t have to search hard for the hard of thinking to get into a rage.

Martindale added on Beale:

“He has come in, he has done a fantastic job and him and Ange are now head-to-head, obviously Celtic have got that head start with the points they picked up previously. But I think it shows the job that Michael has done.”

“If you had said to anybody at Rangers, when they made the appointment, that you are going to be in the cups, going to be unbeaten including a game against Celtic, I think they would have snapped your hands off for that.”

It is absolutely boring and insufferable. If only some could focus primarily on their own team.
