The noise around this link has been audible for quite some time.

As previously reported by VitalRangers, it just won’t go away.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa is a keen admirer of Ryan Kent but if he really wants to prise the player away from Ibrox, the club would need to make a serious, realistic bid for the former Liverpool man.

Of course, Steven Gerrard and the Rangers fans will be in absolutely no hurry to see the back of Kent – quite simply he is one of Rangers most dangerous attacking threats, with a skillset unmatched by his teammates.

In a recent feature for The Athletic, Leeds interest in the Salford-born attacker was outlined:

“He has explosive pace, he is very two-footed, he can eliminate players, he is versatile.”

“It’s the reason Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United are fond of Kent and made a move to sign him in the summer after winning promotion to the Premier League.”

“If there is a player who is made for Leeds’ end-to-end style, it is Kent.”

“That’s why he has come alive in Europe, where there is extra room to manoeuvre.”

This was also picked up on by the Leeds United news site, MOT Leeds News, who spoke of their manager’s pursuit of the player in line with Kent’s development and improvement:

“It’s no shock Bielsa wanted him last summer and it wouldn’t be a shock if he wanted him again this year.”

A reported £10 million bid was point blank ‘strongly rejected’ by Rangers last year and rightly so.

Following the reported £7.5 million deal that brought the player to Ibrox from Anfield on a permanent basis, any potential suitors would need to at least double that fee before a sale would even be considered.

Kent has amassed seven goals and eight assists in an almost ever-present SPFL Premiership campaign so far, with 30 appearances in total.

In the Europa League where we often see his best, from the group stages onward, he has produced two goals and two assists.

Kent’s undoubted quality was displayed for all to see in his goals against Royal Antwerp, home and away, in particular.
