Rangers earned another pre-season win at the weekend as they edged Derby County 1-0 and were good value for the victory in all honesty.

It’s been an impressive off-season for the Gers.

Not only have we managed to keep players and sign good ones, too, we’ve also shown a real professionalism and level of football that should see us go far this season.

Indeed, we’re taking on good opposition and getting wins and now it is up to the Gers to get things going in the league and take Celtic on.

Plenty to take from the game against the Rams, then, and one thing of note was Filip Helander’s impressive performance.

He had little to do at the back, in truth, but what he needed to do he did well and he also looked a threat at the other end for set pieces.

Gers fans reacted to his performance on Twitter, too, so let’s take a look at what was said…

  • I will reserve judgement on Helander until he has played a few times in the hustle, bustle, speed and intensity of the Scottish game to see if he is up for the fight!… I hope so

  • Looks a good defender let’s see how he will get on when we play the Celtic and Aberdeen that will be the big tests for him
