Rangers defender Lee Wallace could be heading to Dundee United this summer, as reported by The Daily Record.

The paper say his former Hearts teammate Robbie Neilson is keen on landing him at the Arabs, despite a stormy history between both clubs in recent years.

Wallace is available on a free transfer with his contract up at the end of the season and despite a recent cameo performance at the weekend is expected to leave Ibrox.

The Record reckon United are not his only option, with Hearts and a number of other English clubs interested in his services.

Neilson though will be hoping that promotion through the play-offs can convince the former Rangers captain to make the switch to Tannadice.

Wallace has made 257 appearances for Rangers, making him one of the most experienced Gers players in the entire squad behind Allan McGregor.

When he leaves it will be with the good wishes of fans, who recognise his loyalty in sticking with the club through financial ruin and a spell in the Scottish lower leagues.

Hopefully wherever he goes it’s somewhere that allows him to play regular first-team football.

  • Wish we could keep him for at least another season. Best left back we’ve got. Whatever happens good luck Big Man. True Bear.

  • wish we would have used him more. still best left back at the club. fantastic captain and a loyal Rangers servant when the rest jumped ship. all the best Lee Wallace. just don’t go to Dundee utd big man..

  • I think i can speak for most Gers fans on this.
Why are we getting rid of our best left back.
We should keep him as we will only need to replace him costing us money that could go on another player.

  • Best left back at gers but I just wish the truth would come out what happened as it’s disgraceful how he has been treated and Steven gerrard would have played him so who is the person stopping this any way good luck lee your a legend
