Rangers defender Lee Wallace could be heading to Dundee United this summer, as reported by The Daily Record.

The paper say his former Hearts teammate Robbie Neilson is keen on landing him at the Arabs, despite a stormy history between both clubs in recent years.

Wallace is available on a free transfer with his contract up at the end of the season and despite a recent cameo performance at the weekend is expected to leave Ibrox.

The Record reckon United are not his only option, with Hearts and a number of other English clubs interested in his services.

Neilson though will be hoping that promotion through the play-offs can convince the former Rangers captain to make the switch to Tannadice.

Wallace has made 257 appearances for Rangers, making him one of the most experienced Gers players in the entire squad behind Allan McGregor.

When he leaves it will be with the good wishes of fans, who recognise his loyalty in sticking with the club through financial ruin and a spell in the Scottish lower leagues.

Hopefully wherever he goes it’s somewhere that allows him to play regular first-team football.
