Umar Sadiq has featured on the rumour mill for Rangers for a while now and earlier this evening he became our second signing of the day as joined on loan from Roma.

The powerful six foot three striker comes in for the full season of 2018/19 and he is Steven Gerrard’s ninth capture of the summer so far. The 21-year-old has already begun winning admirers in the game and during a loan spell out with NAC Breda last season, he scored five times in 12 appearances in the Dutch Eredivisie. Having broken into Roma’s squad aged just 18, he’s also scored twice for them in six senior appearances.

Having showcased his talents in his home country and impressed then at Serie B side Spezia, that earned him his move to Roma and an initial loan spell saw them tie him down to permanent terms. He’s also spent time with Bologna and Torino as he increased his experience, and he has represented Nigeria – scoring four goals for them at the Olympics in Rio in 2016 where they won bronze.

The fans already seem to have given him an interesting nickname but I’ll let you discover that for yourselves, I couldn’t possible repeat the intimation here!
