Rangers manager Ally McCoist will have to do without the services of young Lewis McLeod after he was ruled out of action for at least two months.

The youngster had been great for Rangers all season, and was ever present up until the Queens Park game at Hampden at the end of the season. But he was stretchered off in the game against Montrose at the weekend and scans show he has damaged medial ligaments in his knee.

It is a major blow for McCoist to lose a player who has played a major part in the campaign so far. The good news is though that the injury was feared to be worse than it actually was and he could have been out for the rest of the season and some of next season had it been as bad as feared.
