Since Ryan Kent signed for Rangers in the summer of 2018, almost every year since has seen him linked with Leeds United, even when we signed him on a permanent deal from Liverpool for some £7.5million it looked as though he was heading to Elland Road and that he would be out of our price range.

Now, with just a year left on his contract, it would appear that the Premier League outfit is hovering again having already had a £10m bid rejected, an offer Steven Gerrard described as “way off” at the time.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Leeds are back in the hunt but, as yet, there has been nothing concrete:

“Leeds United are considering whether to revive interest in Rangers winger Ryan Kent.

“The 25-year-old has one year left on his contract and the Whites have been long-term admirers of the Englishman.

“The Premier League club tried to buy Kent in 2020 but the player was happy to stay at Ibrox playing under then-manager Steven Gerrard.”

Kent had an injury-interrupted start to this season, missing some of pre-season and a couple of competitive games, however, he now looks to be up to speed and back to his best after a run of decent displays. He is yet to open his account for the campaign but three assists in three league games suggest that he is finding his form at the right time.

There have been message board rumours about a new deal being signed which would be great news, not just because he is a good player but because it would protect his value and stop teams like Leeds from thinking that they can pick up a bargain – hopefully, he follows in Connor Goldson and James Tavernier’s footsteps and commits his future to a club that has allowed him to show off his talent on the biggest stage.
