The speculation is building over Paul Le Guen, will he come to Rangers or won’t he?

Did Sunday’s display put him off or did it not make a difference?

Le Guen’s right-hand man Yves Colleu was in Glasgow at the weekend and he took in the Old Firm game at Ibrox. He left the game with about 25 minutes still to play but all is not lost.

Colleu said: ‘Our decision won’t be based on this match alone and we need to have another look.

‘I was impressed with Glasgow and we will have a long think about coaching Rangers before making a decision. There is no doubt the players had a bad game on Sunday and because of that they lost.

It’s going to be very difficult for the rest of the season because they have a lot of catching up to do. Paul watched the derby on French television and thought the same as me about the performance of the team.

It’s difficult to talk about a team when you’ve only seen them play one game.’

Colleu went on to say that they don’t have a lot of time to make a decision and they should have something to tell us by Wednesday.

Le Guen is at the top of most Rangers fans’ wishlist to be the next manager after it was announced that McLeish would step down at the end of the season.

The Frenchman led Lyon to three consecutive titles in France.

He is highly thought of around Europe and earlier this season he turned down offers from Benfica and Lazio. It is rumoured that he is also currently on the wanted list of Real Madrid and Newcastle.
