Rangers midfielder, Glen Kamara is, perhaps surprisingly, attracting more interest than any other player at the moment after a report on 90min.com revealed that as many as 10 clubs are vying for his signature at a reported price tag of £10million.

The Finnish international has been the subject of transfer rumours before with English clubs said to have been watching him last winter after his form since arriving from Dundee in January 2019 for a cut price fee of £50,000.

Kamara is the typical modern midfielder, not a defensive midfielder, nor a box-to-box one, but one that covers every blade of grass looking to recycle possession and pressing the opposition to win it back when it is lost.

On his day he can look exactly what he is, an international player, however, there are games – particularly in the Scottish Premiership, where the game can pass him by if it is more physical and frenetic.

With Dynamo Kiev, Dinamo Moscow and Marseille said to be monitoring him from the continent and Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle United, Southampton, Norwich City and Brentford all considering a bid, Rangers very much hold the cards when it comes to negotiations.

At the £10m being mentioned it would represent an excellent bit of business for Steven Gerrard given the  initial outlay for the player, it could also mean that this summer’s spending will be covered without the need to sell Alfredo Morelos.

Would you sell Kamara for £10m?

Yes

No

Creativity in midfield has been an issue before and it would make sense to sell Kamara, especially with Ryan Jack and Steven Davis capable of performing the same role, alongside the more attack minded Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo.

Whether this would mean promotions for the likes of Ross McCrorie, Greg Docherty or Jamie Barjonas remains to be seen, however, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Ross Wilson has a few more aces up his sleeve though,  either way, it is certainly the transfer model that Rangers fans need to get used to as the club progresses, buying low and selling high.
