Despite a solid performance away to Aberdeen on Sunday, Rangers could only manage to secure a point at Pittodrie after conceding a later equaliser.
It was Steven Gerrard’s first Scottish Premiership match in charge and despite the dropped points, he is happy with the performance of his players considering they played much of the fixture with just ten men.
Striker Alfredo Morelos was sent off just 12 minutes into the match for a kick out at defender Scott McKenna, a decision from Kevin Clancy that looked exceptionally harsh.
While many fans reckon it was never a red card, there are plenty who have been annoyed by the Colombian’s actions regardless, believing even being suckered into an altercation with McKenna proves he has lots of learning to do.
As harsh as the sending off was, he did give officials the opportunity to give him an early bath when he didn’t need to.

Officiating as poor as ever but it’s all sounding a bit circa 90s Open Line. Morelos stupid to give ref a decision, we didn’t kill the game when we could, SG made poor subs & we lost concentration late on for 2nd game in a row. Get our own house in order & we’ll always be fine.

Didn’t think Morelos was a red but he was stupid to give ref the decision to make, we know Scottish ref’s will give anything against us. How ball stayed on the park is a disgrace, had Ryan jack committed that foul on stevie May, guaranteed red card. Absolutely abysmal from Clancy

Morelos needs to learn to screw the nut it might have been a soft red but he's allowing the refs to make these decisions by doing stupid things like kicking out that's just stupidity he needs to learn

Morelos' petulance aside (never a red but he WAS stupid kicking out, gave the ref a decision to make), I love the fight in this Rangers team and how they channelled their aggression in the first half. Midfield three excellent – Jack like a new signing, Arfield loves a tackle.

Great performance.
Morelos has let the team down with stupidness.
Ball should have been off as well. Shocking decision— Super Ally 🇬🇧 (@rangers_da) August 5, 2018
