As reported by multiple outlets, including Sky Sports, Rangers are interested in signing Millwall defender Jake Cooper this summer and have lodged a £3m bid for his services.

With the arrivals of Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson ahead of the new season already, it’s clear the defensive positions are of a massive priority to new boss Steven Gerrard.

However, further reinforcements are needed with Bruno Alves and David Bates having left the club and Fabio Cardoso likely on his way out too.

Cooper is a 23-year-old with a bright future and helped his side to an 8th placed finish in the English Championship last term, proving to be one of their most consistent performers.
