It’s taken a few transfer windows but Rangers fans finally have a squad that they can be proud of with just a few fringe players that need to be trimmed.

One such player is Jordan Jones – capped nine times by Northern Ireland – who, according to TEAMtalk, has been told he is free to leave in the summer with several English clubs said to be interested in securing his signature.

In what year did Allan McGregor make his Rangers debut?

Jones has impressed so far at Sunderland scoring a couple of self-made goals so far but the recent news contradicts what the Northern Ireland international said when he first signed for Sunderland:

“I can’t speak highly enough of the Rangers manager. I have nothing but respect for the manager and he has been great to me.

“He told me to get myself out and back enjoying my football again and we’ll see what position we’re in come the summer.

“I am grateful to Rangers and Sunderland for making it happen.

“I haven’t had a lot of football over the last 18 months. I am 26 now and I am approaching what is my prime.

“I am in a position where I have to go on this loan to impress for Sunderland and Rangers.”

An in-form Jordan Jones is a valuable asset for any team as he has shown both in Scotland and the Europa League, however, we just haven’t seen it often enough in a Light Blue shirt – his talent was never up for debate, his attitude and professionalism has, which is why he’s playing in League 1 and not the last 16 against Slavia Prague.
