Gers ramp up 31-goal striker interest after scouting revelation

|

Rangers have been linked with a host of new strikers who could add firepower to Steven Gerrard’s side with the latest news being that the club’s recruitment team is carrying out final analysis on one of them before making a summer move.

Jonson Clarke-Harris of Peterborough United has already been watched by the Ibrox side with their director of football confirming the interest earlier this year after ruling out a January move for the 31-goal forward, as reported by Glasgow Live:

“We want promotion this season so there’s no way we would have let him go. It was the same situation with Ivan Toney last season. We could have sold him in January, but we were never going to. The owners have done great to resist cashing in at a time when football clubs are struggling financially.

“Rangers have been to a lot of our matches this season and they were there on Saturday. Sheffield United were also there, but West Brom weren’t. I didn’t have a conversation about Jonson with any of them though.

“Like with Ivan, we don’t have a single concern that transfer talk will affect Jonson. He is single-minded and his focus is entirely on winning promotion with us.

“He’s a humble man who constantly gives the praise to his teammates.”

Football Insider claims that Rangers will use the last three games of the season to decide on whether or not to make a move for the 26-year old but if his form in recent weeks is anything to go by we shouldn’t expect them to be anything other than impressed.
