Jermain Defoe is a Rangers player. Has it sunk in yet? The former Tottenham, Sunderland and Bournemouth – among many others – player has moved to Ibrox on an 18-month loan deal, and that’s a very exciting prospect.

The Englishman has scored wherever he’s gone, and whilst he might not be a long-term solution, he’ll certainly be able to do the business this season – and that’s exactly what he’s aiming for, it seems.

Upon his move to Rangers, Defoe shared a message on Twitter relataing to his goals this season, and it’s exactly what Rangers supporters will have been wanting.

“Let’s bring that trophy home, boss”, said Defoe.

Of course, Defoe and Gerrard previously played together for England, and so there is already a rapport between the two men.  Gerrard will know all about what the striker can do, and that’s exactly why he’s been brought in.

After our win against Celtic, we were all left dreaming that this could be our year, and now, with Defoe and Steven Davis in the team, that dream is only becoming more prominent.

Thoughts?
