Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has lost his appeal over the red card he was shown in the victory over Aberdeen at the weekend.

Having been dismissed following a challenge with Stevie May, Rangers appealed the charge based on the fact he connected with the ball first as opposed to the player, but match day referee Willie Collum’s decision to show a start red card was vindicated by the appeals panel as they dismissed the clubs’ application.

It’s the fourth time this season the 25 year old has been dismissed during a game, as he was also sent from the pitch in matches against Hibernian, Kilmarnock and Hamilton, although Jack was successful in appeals for the first two games.

With this appeal failing, he is now banned for three matches and will sit out fixtures against Ross County, Hibernian and St Johnstone.
