This year’s Boxing Day action for Rangers took place on home soil as we welcomed Hibernian to Ibrox for our latest Premiership clash.

Rangers took the lead in the game through Alfredo Morelos, but four minutes from time Hibernian managed to grab themselves a leveller to see the game finish with the scores tied at 1-1.

Having better dominated the game, it was a cruel late blow but we just couldn’t get that second on the day to make life more comfortable and it does mean we miss the opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table to only one point, but there’s lots of football left to play in the 2018/19 campaign and they’ll be plenty more ups and downs before the season comes to a close.

Morelos does take the praise from the match following his 20th goal of the season, but I think most fans will agree with manager Steven Gerrard’s post-game words as he knows we are overly reliant on the 22-year-old Colombian and we need threats from elsewhere on the pitch.

Speaking to the BBC following the match, a disappointed gaffer explained.

“I don’t think we played particularly well but we got ourselves five minutes away from the finish line and could have come away with three points. We’re reliant on Alfredo at the moment, too much. I’ve asked other people to stand up and be counted and opportunities did present themselves to kill the game off and we paid the price for that.”
