Everyone in Rangers land knows the result from Steven Gerrard’s first competitive match in charge and we go into the second leg with the advantage and plenty of hope when it comes to progressing through to the Qualifying Second Round of the Europa League this year and going at least one step further than last season.

I don’t need to repeat game details but building on a mixed performance and a mixed reaction from fans to the showing across the 90 minutes, the Official Rangers Twitter Feed asked a very simple question following the game.

I’m not sure who will agree, or who will disagree but with a couple of hundred responses to the question on social media, two men, in particular, seemed to stand out in the minds of the fans for the coveted Man of the Match Award.

Other players obviously featured as few MotM polls are ever unanimous and exclusive and there was the usual offering of a player who was clearly below par.

Connor Goldson and debutant Glenn Middleton seriously stood out though and with good reason, I would think. With a couple of hundred responses at the time of typing, I actually think the young midfielder just edges it to be honest.

There were plenty more comments than I’ve copied in below.
