Former Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam has left the door open on a return to Ibrox, admitting that he would always be interested in re-signing for the club.

The Stoke City man is currently preparing for the English Championship season and that is his focus, but speaking to talkSPORT, he has spoken highly of the Gers and says he would like a return.

As quoted by the radio station, he said:

It’s a wonderful football club. I started there are learned my trade there, and I enjoyed Glasgow as a city.

It [returning] is something that would always interest me to do, but at the moment I’m contracted to Stoke and I’m looking forward to the start of the season.

The midfielder made 90 appearances for the club before making his move to England, where he surprised everyone with form that eventually won him a massive move to Liverpool.

Now 32 years of age, he’s now at Stoke, who were reported this week to be concerned by his many media appearances and controversial comments, perhaps opening the door to a summer exit.

Rangers are already well stocked in the middle of the park, but another quality addition would give Steven Gerrard and the first team squad serious depth ahead of what is hopefully a long season of competing in multiple competitions.

Would you re-sign Charlie Adam? Let us know in the comments…
