Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox revolution continued at full pace earlier today as we announced two signings – numbers eight and nine – for the coming Premiership campaign ahead in 2018/19.

First up this afternoon was the signing of midfielder Lassana Coulibaly from Angers.

The 22-year-old joins up with Rangers for the coming season having penned a year-long loan spell from the French Ligue 1 side. The Mali international has been a semi-regular in Ligue 1 for the last three seasons despite his age, but he did only move to Angers last summer. He spent the two previous years with Bastia. Having made his debut for Bastia back in August 2015 aged only 19, he made 48 appearances for the Corsican side, scoring once. His first year at Angers saw 23 appearances, also with a return of one goal.

He got his international bow in 2016 at Under 21 level, but before the end of the year he was in the senior side and he now has nine caps to his name.

A good season under his belt with us will only see his stock rise further.

It’s safe to say fans have already found something to like him for!
