As quoted by the Daily Record, Rangers hero Barry Ferguson has tipped Borna Barisic to be a success next season at the club, even if he has flopped so far.

The player signed last season to much acclaim but did little really to impress and only showed what he could do in very brief flashes for our club.

There is work to do for him this summer in pre-season training – if he is even at the club – but Ferguson feels as though next year could actually prove successful for him.

Speaking to the Record, the former midfielder had this to say about the Croatian international:

“He parachuted in to the squad during the qualifiers last year but this time around he will have a full pre-season to get up to speed along with the rest of the squad.”

For me, he’s a player that perhaps could do a good job for the right club but I am still not convinced he will succeed at our place.

He’s got experience and Ferguson might be right but I just don’t feel as though Steven Gerrard is confident about the guy.
