Dragan Mladenovic, remember him? The one time former Rangers player has made a very peculiar comment in regard to the supporters at Ibrox.

In previewing the game, the man who signed for the Gers following his time at Red Star Belgrade was positive about the club but his loyalties lie firmly with the Serbian champions, where he is said to work at present as part of their academy staff.

Signed by Alex McLeish for around £1 million, the Serb only played seven times before he was bombed out on loan to Real Sociedad. After San Sebastian, he went on to make a return to red and white in Belgrade.

Strangely, Mladenovic gave a quote about Rangers supposed arrogance following the win over Borussia Dortmund but it is hard to see how this can be backed up. He then went to to say this in regard to the Rangers fans:

“When you play in Glasgow, it is important to be psychologically ready, because the atmosphere is fantastic. The fans are closer to the players and they are passionate. They love their club.”

“When the game is in the evening, they also come under the influence of alcohol!”

Noise

Without a doubt many fans enjoy a drink with a few indulging too much but to say that in general, the whole crowd will be drunk is ridiculous. I wonder if in was said in jest or if was a serious remark.

The former midfielder is correct to state that a wall of passion and noise will hit the visitors tonight, in support of Gio van Bronckhorst’s team but the roles will be reversed fully in that regard next week.

Bring it on. If you are having a drink or not, enjoy the game!
