Andy Little has been lapping up the title celebrations and he’s said that after spending 7 years at the club, he finally feels like he’s deserved the celebrations.

The striker only lasted 37 minutes in the game against Berwick, but as we all know he found the net 25 times this season, playing an immense role in our automatic promotion from SFL3, and helping himself to the Sam English Bowl as our leading scorer in the league and the 23 year old couldn’t be happier.

He told the Official Site.

‘I’ve been at the club for seven years now and I’ve been involved in this sort of thing in the past. This time though I feel like I deserve to be a part of it and it’s unbelievable. This is what I’ve been dreaming of. I’ve said before that after we won the title at Kilmarnock two years ago that I wrote a note to myself on my phone saying I really wanted to be involved in something like this on merit, I almost felt left out that day and I didn’t want to experience that ever again. I’m making the most of things and enjoying it!’

Thoroughly deserved as well. It’s one thing to be part of a success being around the group or being a fringe player, but it must be something special to know that at a base level you have contributed 25 times to lifting the league trophy, not including performances, assists and everything else that comes with a match day performance.

It’s also one thing to enjoy it and dine out on success, but Little is sensible enough to know that preparations for next season begin now – even thought the players have more than earnt a break – as he says he doesn’t feel the team were fit enough this campaign and that’s something they will each have to individually address over the summer to we can hit the ground running in SFL2 from the first game to replicate what they are currently feeling.
