Ahead of Rangers trophy day and expected fan celebrations this coming weekend, Scottish justice minister Humza Yousaf has made a plea.

He has called for fans to think again about gathering at Ibrox and George Square on Saturday, stating that the virus is still present and that individuals have to be responsible.

Up to now, there is no record of a similar stay away call for Palestine solidarity protestors who were present at Glasgow’s symbolic civic centre last night.

Nor for celebrating Partick Thistle fans recently or a few other examples of public expression that haven’t been targeted in the same way that Rangers and the fans have.

Yousaf stated that talks have taken place with the Ibrox club, the police and Glasgow city council reps.

Self confessed Celtic fan Yousaf now has a decision to make following developments today.

After fans of the Parkhead club displayed Palestinian flags in a section of the stadium – which was partially opened to allow tributes to be left for their departing captain Scott Brown – they were subsequently removed by the club.

This has resulted in those fans calling for protest.

Humza Yousaf now has a decision to make or he will be compromised in his actions and consistency.

Over to you justice minister.
