Scott Arfield made a massive contribution to Rangers’ big win over St Johnstone on Sunday and fans have been left in no doubt exactly why he was brought to Ibrox this summer.
Arfield arrived on a free transfer shortly after Steven Gerrard was announced as the new manager and has been an integral part of the side’s excellent summer and autumn so far.
After netting his first goal for the club on Thursday night against Villarreal, he was again on the scoresheet in yesterday’s Scottish Premiership clash, also chipping in with two assists.
It was an all-round midfielder performance to be proud of and we are hopefully in the early stages of a prolonged period of form from the former Burnley and Falkirk man.
At 29 years of age, he’s hitting the prime of his midfield career and has the brilliant combination of experience and enough playing days ahead of him to be relied upon in the long-term.

My personal MOTM was probably Scott Arfield, I thought he was absolutely outstanding. Won so many second balls, particularly for his goal but throughout the second half. We’ve lacked that badly in the last few years.
