Plenty of Rangers supporters are eager to see a return to Ibrox for former fan favourite Steven Davis this summer, after being linked with a move for the midfielder last month.
Sky Sports reported that the Gers were interested in a move for the 33-year-old, who has just 12 months left on his deal at Southampton.
His first team appearances at St Mary’s have been limited due to injury recently, playing just once for Mark Hughes’ side since February.
However, he is captain of the club and has been integral to their midfield over the past few seasons, including last term before his injury, making 25 appearances in total.
His advancing years might mean he is less dynamic than his successful first spell at Rangers, but having won multiple trophies and at one point undoubtedly demonstrating he was the outstanding player in all of Scottish football, a return is very tempting indeed.
These supporters are certainly keen, taking to Twitter over the last week to share their thoughts on a potential return…
No Truth in Steven Davis reports. I more than most would love the wee man back but nothing happening. #RFC
