Yesterday evening it was being reported that striker Eduardo Herrera had now made the move out to Mexican side Santos Laguna.

The 29-year-old was signed by Pedro Caixinha and he heads to them on a loan spell for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign. He has been with them previously on a loan spell when Caixinha was the manager, so it’s no real surprise to see him return to a familiar haunt.

His spell at Rangers wasn’t great as he returned two goals in 24 appearances and he clearly has no future under new gaffer Steven Gerrard so getting him out the door quickly suits everyone.

News of his departure went over pretty well in the fanbase, but it goes without saying that with mixed thoughts on Alfredo Morelos’ consistency, a new striker is needed as we go into the campaign as although we’ve made some good signings, many feel a new top man now becomes the priority.
