Young Rangers defender Chris Hegarty has spoken of his joy at winning his first title with Rangers hours after the downer at drawing 0-0 with Montrose.
Chris Hegarty who is a lifelong Gers fan said: “It`s a massive thing for me and I was on the phone to my parents and they are absolutely over the moon. We were on the bus and everybody was downhearted, it actually felt like a loss after the game.’
He continued: ‘We then heard Elgin had scored a penalty and everyone was at the back of the bus cheering and it was just a great journey back. All the lads were very happy. I think, apart from Neil Alexander and Lee McCulloch, for the rest of us it`s the first title at the club.’
