Rangers fans are today calling for Nikola Katic to take his place back in Steven Gerrard’s starting eleven after comments Joe Worrall made about his time in Glasgow being temporary.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, the 22-year-old appeared to rule out any chance of a permanent switch to the Gers, talking up his parent club.
The comments come after concerns about his recent performances, with the loanee at times not looking comfortable defensively alongside Connor Goldson, with whom Katic formed a formidable partnership in the early stages of the season.
Katic has struggled with injuries over the last month or so but has started just one match since September, with Worrall clearly Gerrard’s preferred option.
Fans want the young Croatian to come back into the team and took to Twitter today to share their thoughts on the situation…
I think Katic is slightly better than Worrall though not by much, but after reading Worrall’s comments I the press, Katic should start every time!

There's not much between Katić and Worrall defensively, but from what we've seen so far Katić is a much bigger goal threat. Added that he's ours rather than on loan then Niko should be in the team, imo.

Worrall can just sit on the bench rest of the season until needed,id rather have Katic in there who will give his all instead of a player who’s only interested in his parent club

Looks like Joe Worrall have made a gigantic mistake saying “it’s just a loan to me”, Katic should be Goldson partner in defence anyway.

Would much rather we developed Katic rather than Worral. There’s honestly not that much between them except Worrall is a little better on the ball. His comments are daft considering the jury’s already out on him. Doing himself no favours whilst up here coming away with that.

The Katic issue is odd. No secret I prefer Katic to Worrall and as Katic is actually ours I would rather play him regularly and develop him instead of Worrall because we know Katic is more than capable of performing at this level ????????♀️
