‘He is better anyway’ – Some Rangers fans urge Gerrard to keep selecting one Wednesday performer

|

Rangers bounced back from defeat at the weekend to thrill supporters with a 3-0 win over Hearts at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Having not won a single match in March, there was a bit of pressure on Steven Gerrard’s shoulders heading into the encounter, even if the result has little meaning for us in the tail-end of the season.

Nonetheless the team produced a good performance and we can’t turn our noses up at that.

Jermain Defoe came into the team in place of the suspended Alfredo Morelos and demonstrated there’s more to life at Ibrox than the Colombian with a fine early finish that sent us on our way to victory.

Goals from Connor Goldson and Scott Arfield sealed the three points.

Fans were delighted with the contribution of Defoe, feeling he showed the kind of professionalism and team-based performance that Morelos should aspire to.

Having now scored six goals for the club since arriving in January, despite limited game time, many are now calling for the veteran striker to get a run in the team, even when the 22-year-old returns.

These supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his Wednesday night performance…
