‘He has to take control’ – Some Rangers fans fear the worst under Gerrard after cup exit

Some Rangers fans are worried about the direction the club are heading under manager Steven Gerrard after last night’s damaging defeat to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup quarter-final.

The 2-0 loss to Derek McInnes’ side means that the Gers’ best chance of silverware this season has disappeared, just like the Scottish League Cup, with the chances of winning the Scottish Premiership incredibly slim.

Our ropy form since beating Celtic last December has been incredibly frustrating, with the team apparently losing the fighting spirit that produced that sensational afternoon at Ibrox.

With a tough match against Kilmarnock on the immediate horizon, before another derby at Celtic Park, the pressure is really on Gerrard even if the majority of the support still back him to continue as manager.

Despite that backing, it would be churlish to suggest there is no anxiety about the job he is doing and these fans have taken to Twitter over the last 24 hours to share their thoughts, with some believing there are more failures ahead…
