Andy Halliday has said that he feels there is a lot more to come from the Rangers side following our three nil victory over Peterhead earlier today.

With goals from Templeton, Miller and Tavernier to put us through to the next round of the Scottish League Cup, Halliday told the Official Site that he felt we showed what we were capable of in the game, but as the team gel more and get used to each other and manager Mark Warburton’s ideas there will be a lot more improvement as the weeks tick by.

‘It`s a fully new team, coaching staff and philosophy of how we want to play. It might take time, and we`re not the finished article just yet, but thankfully we`re picking up results as we go. The crowd`s reaction to the style of football we`re playing was fantastic, and it gave us the lift we needed to go and kick on in the last twenty minutes, and we created another 10 chances after that and managed to grab a third. The atmosphere as well was fantastic and it was pretty special for me to make my competitive home debut.’

With Warburton already pointing out that with the chances we had we should’ve scored more, whilst being pleased with his debut and the overall showing, Halliday agreed with the manager but pointed out it was a great positives we were creating those chances in the first place.

‘That`s a credit to how we played today going forward. There were quite a few chances and I think a few boys will be disappointed not to get on the scoresheet. But all credit to the team for creating those chances and I`m happy too for Big Wes and the back four to keep a clean sheet today. Defenders can win you leagues, but all round it was a good performance.’

There was however disappointment for him as he believed he should’ve opened his own club account on the day.

‘My job is not to get so far up the park, but when the chances come I obviously need to take them if I want to get a goal. But that`s not really my job. I`m just happy to do my job for the team and I`m happy to let the other boys get the plaudits for scoring the goals. The second goal was always coming, but the more we missed chances the more frustrating it was becoming, but I was delighted for Kenny to come on and get the second.’
