Rangers star Ianis Hagi has stressed how much the team are missing the buzz from the Rangers fans, ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm clash.

He was speaking to Rangers TV in the build-up to the massive Scottish Cup encounter,

“There is something missing in an Old Firm and I think that is obvious – that is the fans.”

“I am looking forward to having the fans in the stadium at home and away, and especially in an Old Firm game as everyone is talking about how differen it is with the fans in the stadium is, and how beautiful it is, so I am looking forward to that.”

The Romanian international knows all about the impact made by the fans, given his experience from his initial loan spell last season and he craves the return of a full Ibrox stadium.

“I said during the season that I miss them so much,” Hagi told RangersTV.

“Not only me but the entire team, we miss them so much and we know how close they were watching us on TV and staying at home and staying safe.”

“So it has been really tough for us, but it has been tougher for them being away from Ibrox and being away from their home basically.”

“I am really looking forward to next season and to seeing the fans back at the stadium. I think it is an unbelievable feeling – you think about the fans and them being happy, and that is being back at Ibrox.”

“Having that at Ibrox is special in tough moments when they pick you up and push you to the victory.”

That Ibrox roar will be missing on Sunday but it is up to the players to deliver, just like they have already done in the Premiership this season.

A first Scottish Cup since 2009 would secure double delight for Steven Gerrard’s men, but first of all, a quarter-final spot must be secured.

Given all that has been said recently, particularly from the east end of Glasgow, a marker needs to be set down on Sunday by the boys in blue.

Don’t write off the chances of Hagi having his say.
