Disgraced former Rangers custodians Charles Green and Imran Ahmad are said to be ‘seeking millions in compensation’ having been linked to fraud and conspiracy during their time at Ibrox.
A public letter from the Crown Office has set out a public apology to both individuals, as divulged below by BBC Scotland’s Chris McLaughlin.
The communication makes reference to the previous prosecution against both Green and Ahmad which is said ‘should not’ have happened and that damages would follow.

A Glasgow Herald report on the ongoing case included:
‘Charles Green, whose Sevco consortium, bought the assets of the club business in liquidation nine years ago for £5.5m is due to receive compensation after Crown lawyers accepted he too was subjected to a malicious fraud prosecution.’
‘A full hearing in his £20m damages claim over wrongful arrest to decide how much should be awarded is due.’
‘Mr Ahmad is also pursuing an amount believed to run to £30m, after he was wrongly prosecuted on fraud charges.’
Hostility
In the eyes of the majority of Rangers supporters, there will be very little goodwill toward Chares Green and Imran Ahmad.
A very protracted situation was played out in full public view, with the club suffering at the behest of several individuals as the boardroom resembled a revolving door for a period.
Other names such as the Easdales, Somers, Llambias, etc, came and went to be faced with the same hostility that saw the departures of the Green and Ahmad.
It was only with the EGM in 2015 when Dave King led his men to assume control of the club, that a new era was finally able to emerge.
Thankfully, the troubles of the past decade are very much behind Rangers, on and off the pitch, but reports of botched investigations and millions of damages towards individuals who did not act in Rangers best interests still leaves a very bitter taste.
