With plenty of speculation swirling around Rangers and possible departures on the English permanent deadline day yesterday, one man who did make a permanent switch away from the club was last season’s top goalscorer – Josh Windass.

The 24-year-old made the move to English Championship side Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee two years after first moving to Ibrox from Accrington Stanley. His time with us saw him make 73 appearances for the club, and he returned 19 goals in total and plenty of fans think his record would’ve been more had his first season not been hampered by injury.

18 goals in 41 appearances to put him top of the scoring charts in 2017/18 alongside Alfredo Morelos tells the story of what he was capable of, but he remained a player who split the fan base.

With his heading out of the club now, that split continues as whilst plenty were sad to see him go given the threat he carries in front of goal, plenty of others were happy to see us get rid of him believing we can do better.

The debate will no doubt continue for those who can be bothered.
