Rangers fans were excited to see teenager forward Dapo Mebude hit a hat-trick for the reserves side on Monday, helping his side to a 6-2 victory against Motherwell despite only coming into the game at half-time.

In a match that also saw players like Eros Grezda and Jordan Rossiter get important minutes under their belt ahead of first-team challenges, it was Mebude who stole the show with an excellent late flurry of goals which you can see below.

Still eligible for the club’s U18s side, Mebude is actually playing at an age group above him right now, a signal that he has exceptional potential.

His pace and finishing is clear to see already and hopefully he can improve to the extent that he is knocking on the door for senior side action before long.

Ross McCrorie has been on the record in the past saying that he feels Mebude will be the next one to break into the first-team squad.

Clearly with Alfredo Morelos, Kyle Lafferty and Umar Sadiq ahead of him there is stiff competition for places, but if he keeps producing performances like yesterday’s he’ll certainly have a bit of hype behind him.

These fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his efforts against Motherwell…
